OG Ghee founder Vresh has always been a foodie since he was cooking side by side with his mom in their little kitchen to binge watching reruns of Hell’s Kitchen in the late hours of the night. Vresh had a curious and experimentative mind, even trying his hand at béchamel as little as 13 years old, he just had an unyielding love for cooking, a trait that hasn’t faded even now, decades later. Moving to Canada on his own in 2009, he realized and was disappointed with the lack of Indian pantry staples; what he could find wasn’t the quality he’d come to love or were outsourced rather than locally made. After the pandemic hit, Versh found himself laid off with no alternatives in mind, but the nagging need to have those locally made, high quality Indian pantry staples was a constant idea in the back of his mind, and he decided to begin his journey through his culture’s cuisine. After toiling away and brainstorming, working those experiment muscles in his culinary mind, OG Ghee came into being.
